Math: Complete the Properties of Quadrilaterals sheet; Sign Math Test

Science: Work on your Roller Coaster Projects 

Wednesday April 30th, 2014 (Day 3)
Math: Complete the Quadrilaterals sheet from today (back page only, questions #1-10); Sign Math test

Science: Work on Roller Coaster Projects. New due date is Thursday May 8th

Thursday May 1st, 2014 (Day 4)
Math: Complete the first two pages of the Angles booklet (back and front)

Science: Work on Roller Coaster Projects. New due date is Thursday May 8th

Math: Complete the rest of the Angles booklet (homework check tomorrow)

Language: Complete the rough draft of essay 

Math: Sign Math Quiz; complete the rest of 2.6 Handout

Wednesday April 23rd, 2014 (Day 3)

Math: Sign quiz; complete the rest of 2.7 Simple Interest (#6-9); Complete the green sheet, first page (back and front)

Language: Complete the rough draft of your essay

Science: Complete title page; sign science quest

Thursday April 24th, 2014 (Day 4)

Math: Study for the test tomorrow; sign your Math quiz

Science: Sign your science quest; Complete your title page for Fluids

Language: Rough copy of your essay due tomorrow

Friday April 25th, 2014 (Day 5)

Geography: Highlight the important points from the Urbanization article. You will be writing a mini-essay (2-3 paragraph) response outlining your point-of-view of urbanization, using evidence from the "Factors Affecting Urbanization" sheets as well as the article. 

Language: Revise/Edit your Symbolism Essay; you will have to submit it by the end of the Language period on Monday.

Science: Sign your Science Quest by your parents

News/Upcoming Events for the Week of April 21st


Here are a few reminders for the week.

School-Wide News

1. The Morning Meal Contribution is still being collected this month. If you would like to receive a snack, please return your envelopes to me so I can add you to the list of those participating in the program.

2. Graduation Photos are due this Friday April 25th.

3. The school is holding a Movie Night on Wednesday April 23rd.

4. Grade 8 Girls: You have an Immunization Clinic in the afternoon on Friday April 25th.

Class Reminders/Updates

1. Roller Coaster Projects are due in the next few weeks. I am looking forward to seeing your final projects. Please ensure that you and your group members are completing every component of the project.

2. This week, we will be wrapping up our current Math unit on Fractions/Percentages/Decimals. Please ensure that you are reviewing your notes. We will be beginning our Geometry/Measurement Unit next week.

3. Language: We will be working on the completion of your Symbolism essays this week to complete our novel study unit on The Outsiders.

Science: Study for the Quest on Wednesday; (on-going) Work on your Roller Coaster Project
Language: Continue to collect quotes/scenes (evidence) to support your interpretation of the symbols

Tuesday April 8th, 2014 (Day 4)

Science: Study for your Quest which has been postponed to Thursday April 10th (It will be written during the double Geography Period).

Language: Work on beginning your essay.

Language: One paragraph is due tomorrow of your essay

Math: For those of you who have yet to write the Fractions test, you will be writing it Monday

News/Upcoming Events for the Week of April 7th

News/Upcoming Events for the Week of April 7th

1. On Monday, we will be having some time in-class to work on the Roller Coaster Project during our double Art Period. It is advisable to bring in materials/ideas that you would like to work on to maximize your in-class time. 

2. On Tuesday, those in Young Women on the Move are going to their Conference with Ms.Seow. This is a full day excursion.

3. On Wednesday, the Co-Ed Volleyball team have a tournament all day. Good luck!

4. Next Saturday April 12th, the Glee Club will be performing at the Show Choir Canada Nationals where they will be competing with other Junior/Middle Schools. Best of luck to those who be competing. 

5. Reminder: Homework Club is available during the lunch hour for any Junior/Intermediate students who need a space to complete homework and/or needs extra assistance. The club runs in our classroom (Room 32) every Friday. Please refer to the Important Resources page for the other teachers who run it during the week.
